You know when you’ve really hit rock bottom when you stop digging. Lay down the shovel. There’s no gold down there.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with many men since I’ve been walking in recovery and I wish that each of the men I talked to had reached this place, but the reality is that many men kept digging. They hadn’t reached “rock bottom”. They hadn’t reached a place of brokenness where they were physically & emotionally moved to tears (and yes, I do believe tears are a sign of repentance). But it’s only until we lay down our shovels and realize that sexual sin will never satisfy that we’ve really reached the bottom. No amount of porn or fantasy will lead us to the Truth – the only One who can satisfy our souls.
