God Honors Honesty

Openness. Transparency. Honesty. These are words and characteristics that just aren’t cherished the way they used to be in our society. Why? I think the reason is rather simple: They take effort. They take work. They take time. There’s a process that take place in all of these words that bears fruit over time. And honesty walks in a direction towards the light, not the darkness. Only when we hide and avoid the truth do we really do more harm to ourselves than simply being honest. In the context of marriage and family, being honest means that I’m more in love with the reality that nothing in my life is off limits to anyone I’m close to. I’ve got NOTHING to hide.
